UV Control
Approximately 2% of the total solar radiation
comprises ultraviolet light (wavelengths of 290–380
nm). This UV radiation is one of the causes of
degradation of dyes, pigments and polymers,
resulting in decomposition of unprotected plastics
and fading of carpets, drapes, art and other interior
fixtures. Laminated glass is essentially opaque to UV
radiation and is stable over time. Greater than 99%
of UV radiation with a wavelength of less than
380 nm is absorbed, even with an 0.030" interlayer.
